Collections held at CARM
The VICLINK Fiction Collection of 50,000 volumes is located in the CARM Centre. The majority of the collection is now catalogued and available, and cataloguing of the entire collection was completed at the end of 2007.
This collection of early twentieth century titles is a unique resource for those researching the stylistic development of twentieth century fiction or social history as reflected in popular literature.
The University of Melbourne's collection of theses prior to 1974 has been transferred to the CARM Centre. Access to this collection can only be obtained by contacting the University of Melbourne, Baillieu Library.
Other important items housed in the CARM Centre include:
- English Parliamentary Papers from early 18th century
- The Indian Census 1961 and 1981 (fairly complete runs)
- The Indian Census 1901, 1911, 1921, 1931, 1971, 1991 (only a few volumes)
- Foreign language medical journals from the Brownless Medical Library at the University of Melbourne, some of them 19th century volumes
- Wool and textile journals from Deakin University
