CARM Interlibrary Loans for non-members
CARM Centre material is available for loan but for use in your library only. Items cannot be directly borrowed from the CARM Centre. Requests to use items must be made through your library. CARM material is only available for use in your library to ensure the preservation of this archival material.
All loans are sent using a courier service that tracks items, Express Post or by Registered Mail.
Copies sent by CARM Interlibrary Loans include a cover sheet with the Copyright Declaration. CARM Interlibrary Loans department adheres to section 50 of the Australian copyright act.
Books must be returned to the CARM Centre using a courier service that tracks items, Express Post or by Registered Mail.
Requests from non-CAVAL member libraries, including overseas requests, are filled following ILRS recommended turnaround times. All requests are processed as quickly as possible taking note of the type of request: Express, Rush or Core.
Service Level: Express
Turnaround Time: 2 hours
Cost: $13.20 plus $26.40 levy (includes GST)
Description: Material needed immediately. CARM dispatches item, or indicates that it cannot supply item within two hours from receipt of the request.
Service Level: Rush
Turnaround Time: 24 hours
Cost: $13.20 plus $13.20 levy (includes GST)
Description: Material needed urgently. CARM dispatches item, or indicates that it cannot supply item within 24 hours from receipt of the request.
Service Level: Core
Turnaround Time: 4 days
Cost: $13.20 (includes GST)
Description: CARM dispatches item, or indicates that it cannot supply item within four working days of receiving request.
Overseas Requests
All overseas loans are sent via Express Post International at the expense of the requesting library. All overseas loan requests must be returned using a postal or courier service that tracks items such as Express Post International, Registered Mail, etc.
